Stand For Trees
Are you breathing right now? You can thank a tree for that. Trees actually breathe too, and when they do, they take in carbon dioxide (the most abundant greenhouse gas causing climate change),keep the carbon to grow, and exhale the oxygen that most living creatures need to survive. When forests are destroyed two detrimental things happen:
1. We lose these amazing trees that produce vital oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide
2. The carbon stored in the trees is released into the atmosphere, where it mixes with oxygen and turns back into carbon dioxide
This intensifies something called 'the greenhouse effect' (the way the special mixture of gases in the air keeps the Earth at a livable temperature), and the atmosphere warms up causing the climate to change in unpredictable and increasingly dramatic ways.
The world's leading climate scientists have warned us repeatedly that if we do not significantly reduce greenhouse gases annually by the year 2020, humankind will face catastrophic consequences for us and future generations.
THIS IS NOT GOOD. Fortunately, we have a solution.
